Why we verify, what you upload, how long it takes.
Why
Clients trust Hometown Workforce because every contractor in the public matcher passed an admin-reviewed identity check. Without verification you can still use the CRM for your own jobs, but new clients won't be routed to you.
What to upload
From /portal/contractor/verification, upload:
- Government ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport — front + back).
- Business license (optional but speeds up review for licensed trades).
- Liability insurance (optional; helps for jobs that require proof).
- W-9 (optional now; required before Stripe payouts).
Timing
Admins usually review within 1–2 business days. You'll get an email when the decision is made; if rejected, the email and the page tell you what to fix.
