What Hometown Is All About

What Hometown Is All About

Company Overview

Our mission is to make hiring a contractor as easy as pushing a button. Hometown Workforce is three companies (construction, trade school, and website marketplace) combined to make that button a reality. Our goal in doing this is to support communities all over the country by creating new businesses and helping existing businesses succeed.

Our business model revolves around the WHAT, WHEN, and HOW MUCH methodology. These are the three fundamental problems with traditional contractor acquisition. By solving them we eliminate virtually any possibility of confusion or scams. Each listing explains WHAT you’re going to get, WHEN you’re going to get it, and HOW MUCH it’s going to cost before the project begins.

WHAT is covered by the specific service listings you choose to book.
WHEN is coordinated by our advanced project management software.
HOW MUCH is known ahead of time; based on the contract package.

Find the service listing that fits your project demands

The way we can provide accurate prices is by having a variety of listings for every service niche. For example, you have a broken fan. Do you want to remove it, replace it or repair it? If it’s a $12,000 industrial fan you may want to repair it but if it’s a small home fan you probably just need to replace it. So now it’s time to search for contractors that offer small fan replacement services. Keep in mind each listing is broken down into 3 variations. For example, a single listing may cover fans between 24-58 inches and up to 20 feet off the ground. Variation 1 priced at $75 is for fans under 8 feet off the ground, where variation 3 is priced at $350 is for fans between 16-20 feet off the ground. The reason things are broken down this way is that it would require different equipment and tools to replace a fan 20 feet off the ground.

Book the start time and date then describe your project requirements

After you have found the correct service listing it’s time to book your project start date and time. From the listing page, you simply select an available date and time that fits your schedule. Then you will need to upload pictures if possible and explain your project in detail. For our broken fan example, you may want to let the contractor know that the breaker trips when you try to turn it on. Anything you can think of to help the contractor prepare so there are no back and forth trips.

Deposit your money into escrow

Upon booking, you will deposit the total project price into escrow. That money will be held until you are satisfied with the work. At which point you will release the funds. And if for whatever reason the contractor is unable to complete the job your money will be refunded no questions asked.

Manage the project until completion

After you have booked a project you can coordinate the job with your contractor. Use our messenger to ensure everything is in order. That means all the correct materials are purchased and all the right tools are brought. Our goal is to streamline the process of getting work done. It saves everyone precious time and money.

Release your funds and leave a review

After your project is complete it’s time to release the funds from escrow and leave a review about your contractor.
